Summer Company BBQ

It’s been a busy few months for us in the mushroom business; after a season marked by rapid growth and lots of activity, we had several new faces and quite a few people working remotely, and some of us hadn’t yet met each other in person! It was a good time to gather up in person, crack open the ice chest and have our company barbecue!

In the food department we were in for an absolute treat – catering was provided by Santa Rosa’s own Red Bee BBQ, who knocked it out of the park with a delicious spread of fusion-style barbecue and sides. Definitely consider them for your next event!

To keep things lively we had a great selection of tunes and plenty of activities, like cornhole, frisbee, and ping-pong, but the star of the show was the weather. Thursday June 20 was maybe the perfect day to get outside. We were treated to a sunny Sonoma County sky, with temperatures in the mid 70s all day and a light breeze. No doubt we’ll be remembering that kind of weather wistfully this summer as Mr Sun turns up the thermostat, but we’re still hoping to do this kind of thing regularly, weather permitting.

All in all, the barbecue was a smashing success. It was a good opportunity to get some valuable face time with each other. Gathering for a bit of relaxed hangout time also gave us all a chance to pause, look back and see how far we’ve come this year, both as a company and as a team. We’re already looking forward to the next one, and we’ll let you know how that one goes!
