The RMS Sterilized Sorghum Grain is a fully hydrated, sterilized grain spawn bag prepared in a controlled lab environment for mushroom cultivators who value consistency and efficiency. Made with medium-sized sorghum grain, this substrate offers an ideal balance of inoculation points, moisture retention, and nutrient content, making it a great choice for a wide range of gourmet and medicinal species.

Each bag is sterilized, sealed in a Sakato-brand grow bag with a 0.2 micron filter, and includes an injection port for easy inoculation with liquid cultureโ€”no need to open the bag until youโ€™re ready to transfer.

Why Sorghum? A Balanced Grain for Spawn Production

Sorghum offers the best of both worlds: more inoculation points than rye and better overall hydration and nutrient content than millet. Its medium grain size supports even colonization, consistent moisture levels, and reliable nutrient delivery, making it a go-to for growers working with liquid culture or agar.

Includes Injection Port for Liquid Culture

Each bag features a built-in self-healing injection port, allowing cultivators to inoculate with liquid culture directlyโ€”no need to open the bag. The 0.2 Micron filter prevents the incursion of contaminants while promoting airflow to feed your mycelium.

Lab-Prepared & Contaminant Free

RMS grain is prepared in a dedicated lab facility using industry-standard sterilization techniques. Bags are filled, sealed, and sterilized in front of multiple laminar flow hoods within air-scrubbed rooms to help reduce contamination risks and improve consistency across batches.
